Not the Utility Pants You Know and Love!
I can’t help but feel misled. Here’s why: I’ve developed a bit of an unfortunate Everlane habit. I’ve bought enough to know that styles can be hit or miss, but the hits are home runs that keep me coming back for more. This means I’ve tried many of their pants styles. I LOVE the utility pant line for their thick and soft fabric and their ‘hold it in’ high-rise pockets: my utility barrel pants are my #1 all time fave and my utility wide legged pants are #2. I was so excited to add another silhouette from the utility line to my collection. My heart sank when I saw the sku code on the tag: EASY-CARGO-PNT-TAN. I really didn’t like the “Easy” pants I already own, plus a seam on the upper thigh came undone after my first wear so as a rule of thumb I always avoid any pants with ‘Easy’ in the title. These pants were definitely NOT utility pants - the fabric is thinner and floppier. They’re still more wearable than my ‘Easy’ pants and nowhere near as disastrous as my ‘Fatigue Barrel Pants. ’ In short, these pants have the same naming convention as my 2 faves and the same composition (98% cotton, 2% elastane) so naturally one would expect them to be cut from the same cloth. These are just meh. Wow I really need to cut back on online shopping huh.
